Mortlach 16 is a robust Speyside single malt matured exclusively in sherry casks to build deep, fruity and savoury layers. The nose opens with bold, stewed orchard fruits, fig and raisin, underpinned by earthiness and warm spice. On the palate it is palate-coating and full-bodied — apricot and honey mingle with leathery, meaty notes and toffee. The long, complex finish offers a surprising sweetening at the end alongside cocoa and old leather echoes. Distinctive for its concentrated intensity and sherry-cask character, this 16-year-old is best enjoyed slowly, allowing a short period of aeration to reveal evolving aromas.

Mortlach Distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, is famed for its robust, concentrated style. Using a distinctive partial triple distillation and traditional worm tubs, Mortlach produces dense, meaty spirit which is then matured in sherry casks to develop rich dried-fruit, spice and savoury notes. The house style leans toward intensity and texture, delivering whiskies with weight, complexity and long finishes.
