Tasting note
Te Kahu, meaning 'the cloak' in te reo Maori, is a rich and abundant wine from Craggy Range. This 2016 vintage from the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay offers a deep crimson red color with brooding aromas of cassis, black olive, dried tobacco, and a hint of caramel. The palate is focused with dark fruits framed by fine tannins, delivering a classical structure and a long, structured finish. Aged in French oak barriques for 17 months, this wine promises an excellent future ahead.
