Citrus zest and a touch of vanilla oak round out the core, with black pepper and toasted oak spice adding structure. The mouthfeel is full and warming, with concentrated flavour and a persistent, smoky finish. Producer notes: distilled on Islay using traditional floor-malted barley and dried over phenolic peat; matured primarily in ex-bourbon oak with a focus on preserving Ardbeg’s signature smoky profile. Winemaking (distilling) notes: small copper pot stills, careful cut points to keep oily, phenolic character; no chill-filtration to retain texture. Vineyard (sourcing) notes: local Islay barley and the island’s peaty kiln smoke and soft, iron-rich well water are central to the whisky’s identity.
