Château Margaux — under the stewardship of Corinne Mentzelopoulos and winemaker Paul Pontallier — crafted a 2011 of notable refinement. After a precocious, drought-tinged season and a September harvest, parcels were vinified and matured in French oak to preserve floral clarity and texture. Margaux’s classic gravelly sites lend definition, minerality and an upright spine.

On the palate this vintage shows bright, floral perfume—roses and violets—over black fruit, with hints of tobacco, mocha and truffle.
