Tasting Note: Deep ruby with youthful purple edges, the 2004 Pichon Comtesse shows concentrated black-fruit aromas—black cherry, cassis—layered with dark chocolate, espresso roast and tobacco. Secondary notes of graphite, leather, pepper and sweet spice frame a core of mineral freshness. On the palate it is medium‑to‑full, opulent yet structured: plush fruit, lively acidity and well-integrated oak produce polished, grainy tannins and a long, refined finish.
Producer & Vineyard: From a historic Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac, the estate sits on classic Médoc terroir—gravelly rises over clay subsoil with a cooling influence from the nearby Gironde estuary. These light, well-drained soils encourage concentrated fruit and palpable minerality.
