Highland Park Viking Pride 18 Year Old is a composed and powerful single malt from Orkney. Matured predominantly in first‑fill sherry‑seasoned European and American oak, it opens with a complex bouquet of ripe cherries dusted with bittersweet cocoa, honeycomb and candied orange peel, underlined by a gentle, maritime peat smoke. The palate is broad and velvety — toffee and melted caramel mingle with toasted nuts, milk chocolate and subtle baking spices, while a saline heather‑smoke thread ties the profile to Orkney’s windswept coastline. Long, layered finish with lingering oak spice and soft smoke.
Producer notes: Crafted under Master Distiller Gordon Motion and owned by The Edrington Group, this expression emphasises traditional Highland Park character: balanced sherry influence, floral heather honey and restrained peat. Maturation: aged 18 years in a high proportion of first‑fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks.
Production notes: Malted barley is distilled on Orkney and matured in high‑quality sherry casks and selected French/American oak, allowing rich dried‑fruit and toffee notes to integrate with rounded oak tannins. No chill filtration and natural colouring practices vary by release.
