Tasting note: Rich and inviting, this 18‑year expression opens with baked orange peel, dried figs and raisin sweetness, layered over honeyed vanilla, toffee and gentle cinnamon spice. Midpalate shows warm caramel, soft oak spice and a suggestion of ginger; the texture is silky with a rounded, mature core. Producer notes: From The Glenrothes, a long‑established Speyside distillery known for vintage-focused single malts, this bottling reflects careful vatting of older casks to achieve balance and complexity. Winemaking (maturation) notes: Matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned oak with complementary ex-bourbon casks, the whisky displays concentrated dried fruit and nutmeg from the sherry influence while bourbon casks give vanilla and caramel lift. No chill-filtration preserves mouthfeel. Vineyard (terroir) notes: Made from 100% malted barley grown in nearby Scottish fields and distilled with soft Speyside spring water; the cool, long maturation climate of Speyside and careful cask selection produce elegant, layered flavours and a long, warming finish.
