This Reserva from the historic Ygay estate is a polished, classic Rioja showing concentrated dark and red fruit framed by well-integrated oak. Aromas of black cherry, raspberry and plum mingle with cedar, vanilla, sweet spice, cocoa and subtle tea-leaf notes. On the palate it is harmonious and precise: lively acidity and fine, firm tannins lend structure while a silky mid-palate carries layered flavours through a long, savoury finish. Winemaking notes: Matured in 225-litre American oak for extended barrel ageing, then further bottle refinement; cork closure preserves the Reserva character. The team led by María Vargas aims for balance and elegance, letting estate character come through after careful oak influence. Vineyard notes: Sourced from the Ygay estate in Rioja Alta — cool nights and well-drained soils give clarity and tension to the fruit, supporting an elegant yet concentrated profile. This bottling is ready to enjoy now with 30–60 minutes of airing, but its structure will reward medium-term cellaring.
