The 2008 Dom Pérignon is nothing short of a viticultural miracle. After a gloomy, overcast summer that kept growers on edge, a dramatic weather shift right at the start of harvest brought glorious sunshine and cool northeasterly winds. This celestial intervention allowed the fruit to attain an extraordinary balance of exceptional ripeness and bracing, vibrant acidity.
Under the masterful guidance of cellar master Richard Geoffroy, this vintage spent a decade resting on its lees in the deep chalk cellars, developing monumental complexity and texture. The nose opens with a luminous bouquet of white flowers, fresh citrus, and crushed mint, before revealing deeper, decadent layers of toasted brioche, salted caramel, and smoky minerality.
On the palate, it is athletic, precise, and breathtakingly seamless. The mousse is incredibly fine and silky, delivering a powerful yet weightless concentration.
