品飲筆記:酒色溫暖如餘燼,打開瓶蓋先是香草與奶油烤餅的誘人香氣,伴隨微烤蘋果、李子與杏仁的果乾香。入口柔滑圓潤,短餅般的奶油甜感包覆整個口腔,接著出現微焦的棉花糖、烤橙皮與無花果,再點綴溫暖的肉桂香,收尾中等長度,有奶糖與新鮮烘焙餅乾的餘韻。 酒莊與製程:這款限量單一麥芽以慶祝新年與分享短餅的溫馨時刻為靈感,酒廠從雪莉桶(歐洲與美國橡木)和美國前波本桶精選陳放,讓酒體兼具雪莉桶的豐富果乾甜與波本桶的明亮香草。43% 酒精度、T-top 瓶塞,追求的是木桶與麥芽的平衡風貌而非泥煤風格。 田野與口感:想像北方的麥田、用心的發芽與糖化,這些基礎工序為蒸餾後的烈酒打下細緻骨架;再由雪莉桶賦予果乾與堅果香、波本桶帶來香草與焦糖感。口感上厚實、黏稠感佳,適合靜靜品味或搭配節慶甜點。小建議:開杯後讓酒在杯中暫放10–20分鐘,香氣層次會逐步展現。

Tasting Note: Warm ember in the glass, The Macallan 'A Night on Earth' opens with inviting aromas of vanilla, buttered biscuits and baked apple, underpinned by plum and almond. On the palate it unfolds as a soft, velvety mouth-coating experience — shortbread-like sweetness and vanilla lead, framed by lightly toasted marshmallow, dried orange peel, fig and gentle cinnamon spice. The finish is medium, lingering with butterscotch and freshly baked biscuit notes. Producer Notes: A limited-edition single malt inspired by Hogmanay celebrations, crafted to evoke the festive ritual of gifting and sharing Scottish shortbread. Created from a careful selection of The Macallan’s sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, balanced with American ex-bourbon barrels to add brightness and texture. Distillation & Maturation: Distilled at The Macallan and matured in a blend of sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks plus ex-bourbon American barrels, this release emphasizes oak influence and gentle sweetness rather than assertive peat. Bottled at 43% ABV with a T-top cork closure, the cask mix delivers rounded oak spice, dried fruit and toasty caramelised notes. Barley & Terroir Notes: While single malt character comes from careful distillation and cask selection, imagine the underlying grain-driven backbone: local malted barley, traditional mashing and slow fermentation shaping the spirit before its extended time in oak. Service: No formal decanting needed — allow the whisky to rest in the glass for about 10–20 minutes to open up its layered baking-spice and dried-orange aromas. Serve neat or with a splash of water to reveal added citrus and fig complexity.
