品飲筆記:色澤明亮金黃,第一口就有奶油焦糖、榛果糖與巧克力醬的溫潤甜感,隨之而來的是無花果與果醬的果乾香,還有一絲蜜餞玫瑰與黑巧克力的苦甜。酒體圓潤滑順,香草與椰子來自前波本桶的影響,接著是烤餅乾、薑餅和溫暖香料,尾韻帶有乾薑、摩卡與煙燻橡木的悠長餘味。
酒廠小檔案:汀斯頓位於高地的 Teith 河畔,原為老棉廠改建的蒸餾廠,有強烈的地域感與手工精神。酒廠偏好不泥煤、清新而飽滿的風格,並重視用本地大麥與純淨的河水釀造。
釀造與陳年:此款主要以前波本桶陳年,部分混合雪莉桶以增添果乾層次,通常不冷過濾、保留天然色澤,呈現奶油般的口感和豐富的橡木香氣。

Tasting note: Bright golden in the glass, Deanston 12 opens with a rich mosaic of caramel, praline and Nutella-like cocoa, layered with fig and raspberry jam, candied rose and dark chocolate notes. A soft wave of vanilla and coconut from ex-bourbon maturation leads into toasted oak, gingerbread spice and a subtle tobacco edge. On the palate it’s silky and buttery, with marmalade, pecans and coffee undertones—broad and plush but finely balanced—finishing long with dried ginger, mocha and savory oak.
Producer notes: Distilled at Deanston on the banks of the River Teith, this 12-year expression showcases the distillery’s unpeated house style and careful cask selection. The whisky is typically matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks with some influence from sherry-seasoned oak to give the dried-fruit lift.
Winemaking/maturation notes: Non-chill filtered and presented at cask-influenced strength, maturation in American oak bourbon barrels provides vanilla, coconut and buttery notes, while occasional sherry casks contribute deeper dried-fruit complexity. The result is a rounded, accessible single malt that balances sweetness, oak spice and gentle savory tones.
Vineyard/land (distillery) notes: Deanston’s home is a converted cotton mill beside the River Teith in the Highlands; the distillery emphasizes locally sourced malted barley, clear spring water and traditional production methods that deliver a clean, full-bodied spirit with a distinctly Highland character.
