Tasting note: Bright golden in the glass, Deanston 12 opens with a rich mosaic of caramel, praline and Nutella-like cocoa, layered with fig and raspberry jam, candied rose and dark chocolate notes. A soft wave of vanilla and coconut from ex-bourbon maturation leads into toasted oak, gingerbread spice and a subtle tobacco edge. On the palate it’s silky and buttery, with marmalade, pecans and coffee undertones—broad and plush but finely balanced—finishing long with dried ginger, mocha and savory oak.
Producer notes: Distilled at Deanston on the banks of the River Teith, this 12-year expression showcases the distillery’s unpeated house style and careful cask selection.
