A layered, world-blended whisky from Ichiro Akuto’s house style. Aromas of vanilla, toffee and orchard fruit open onto a silky, medium-full palate where caramel and toasted nuts meet warm spice, oak and a whisper of smoke. The whisky shows broad complexity from a marriage of malt and grain components matured in a range of casks, delivering a long, gently spicy finish. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water and given about 10–20 minutes in the glass to breathe.

Created by Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the Hanyu founder, Chichibu Distillery was established in 2007 about 100 km northwest of Tokyo. Ichiro's Malt & Grain '505' is a small-batch world blend assembled from malt and grain whiskies matured in a variety of casks. The distillery emphasizes hands-on craftsmanship, experimentation with cask types and seasonal maturation influenced by a cool, continental climate and pristine local water.
