Tasting note

A rare, highly expressive white from Pessac-Leognan, this 2015 shows a floral, white-peach scented nose with citrus peel, grapefruit and a touch of exotic fruit. The palate is broad and generous—rich, lees-tinged and gently creamy—yet kept taut by lively acidity and a pronounced mineral-saline thread. Oak provides subtle spice and structure without overpowering the fruit; the wine finishes very long and concentrated. Produced in very limited quantities and crafted for ageing, this is a sophisticated, powerful dry white that rewards both near-term enjoyment and cellaring.

Winery

Château La Mission Haut-Brion (formerly known in part as Château Laville Haut-Brion) is a historic estate in Pessac‑Léognan, long respected for elegant, terroir-driven whites produced in tiny volumes. Now under Domaine Clarence Dillon, the château combines meticulous vineyard work on gravelly Graves soils with careful cellar practices—selective harvesting, gentle handling and oak maturation—to make concentrated, ageworthy wines prized by collectors.
