【Sommelier’s private notes】This 2008 opens to an inky core—cassis, blackberry and black cherry—framed by graphite, cedar and tobacco-box notes. On the palate it’s exceptionally concentrated and full-bodied, with velvety but firm tannins and a long, persistent finish threaded with coffee, licorice and toasted spice. It’s starting to soften after years in bottle but retains Pauillac’s trademark structure and mineral backbone. Decant about 60 minutes if serving now; the wine will continue to evolve in the glass.

【Vineyard & winemaking】Comes from deep gravel soils on the historic estate; harvest was phased to pick each plot at optimum ripeness. Cold harvest handling and controlled fermentations (macerations 14–25 days, peaks 25–27°C) produced gentle polyphenol extraction. Aged 20 months in oak, the result is density fused with elegant oak detail.
