2016 Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese*** Off Dry

A concentrated, ageworthy dry Auslese from Zeltinger Sonnenuhr. The bouquet opens with vivid citrus zest, lime blossom and white-peach aromas, edged by subtle honeyed notes and a mineral, flinty character. On the palate it is crisp and laser-focused: intense stone-fruit concentration balanced by brisk, saline acidity and a tight stony texture that carries through to a very long, clean finish. Producer notes underline meticulous vineyard selection on the steep, sun-drenched Sonnenuhr slopes and gentle cellar handling. Grapes are hand-picked from parcels that favor slate and exposure; fermentation is kept cool and typically finishes dry, with careful maturation to preserve purity and lift. Drink now with short decanting to unfurl the aromatics, or cellar for further development over decades.
