Tasting note
Bright, classically Burgundian white from Marsannay with an inviting mix of ripe orchard fruits, citrus zest and a gentle overlay of toasted almond and vanilla. On the palate it shows a creamy, slightly buttery texture balanced by lively acidity and a mineral thread that carries through a long, poised finish. Produced by a small, terroir-focused estate in the Cote de Nuits, the wine reflects careful vineyard selection and low‑intervention work in the cellar: gentle pressings, fermentations with indigenous yeasts and élevage on fine lees with modest barrel influence to add complexity without masking freshness. Vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils with favorable exposures, yielding concentrated grapes that give the wine both energy and depth. Drink now through the next 6–8 years; serve lightly chilled after a short decant to open aromas and mid-palate perfume.

Sylvain Pataille is a small grower-producer based in Marsannay whose wines are known for precision and a clear expression of terroir. The domaine focuses on careful vineyard work and restrained cellar techniques to let site character come through — think selective harvesting, low-intervention ferments and measured oak aging to enhance texture rather than dominate.
