Bright, refined and classically Vosne-Romanée: the 2022 Les Chalandins opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, raspberry compote and dried rose, followed by hints of cinnamon, forest floor and crushed stone. On the palate it is medium-bodied with lively, mouth-watering acidity, silky fine-grained tannins and layers of red fruit that become more savory with air. The wine was produced by the small family domaine of Jacques Cacheux from the Les Chalandins lieu-dit in Vosne; grapes are hand-harvested, gently sorted and vinified with careful extraction to preserve aromatic lift. Maturation in French oak (a portion new) adds structure and subtle spice while respecting primary fruit and terroir expression. Drink now with gentle decanting or cellar through the early 2030s for added complexity.
