A classic Pauillac from a notable Fifth Growth estate, the 1982 Château Clerc-Milon is charming and forward. Aromas of ripe dark berries mingle with warm vanillin and subtle cedar from oak ageing. On the palate it shows medium–full body, an open-knit, silky texture and soft, light tannins — approachable now but with a dignified, savory backbone. Produced from gravel and clay-limestone soils, the wine spent about twelve months in oak and was bottled under cork, reflecting careful maturation and a restrained use of new wood. Best served gently decanted to remove any sediment and to let the aromatics breathe. Pairs beautifully with rich red meats, roast lamb or mature cheeses.
