Tasting note
Pale gold with a faint green rim, this blanc de noir opens with an aromatic bouquet of white flowers, citrus peel and green apple, edged by subtle stone fruit and gentle herbal notes. On the palate it is dry and lively, with brisk acidity, a silky mid-palate and a finish marked by saline minerality and a hint of chalk. Crafted by Château Durfort-Vivens under the stewardship of Gonzague Lurton, this wine reflects estate attention to detail: gentle whole-bunch pressing, cool-temperature fermentation to preserve aromatics, and careful ageing (primarily in stainless tanks with a touch of neutral oak/lees contact for texture). Fruit is sourced from well-drained gravelly soils on the estate, benefiting from maritime influence and cool nights that retain freshness and lift.
Winery
Château Durfort-Vivens is a historic estate in the Médoc region now managed by Gonzague Lurton. While best known for its classic red wines, the domaine applies the same rigorous viticulture and precision in cellar work to small-run white and specialty bottlings. Emphasis is placed on low-intervention farming in gravel soils, careful sorting at harvest and gentle pressing to make refined, aromatic wines that balance freshness and texture.
