Tasting note
A superb vintage from Château Margaux, the 2019 Grand Vin marries intense, pure dark-fruited aromas with floral lift and a mineral edge. Expect layers of blackcurrant and black cherry underpinned by cedar, licorice and graphite, all framed by finely integrated French oak from 20 months of ageing. The palate is concentrated yet remarkably refined — silk-like tannins, plush mid-palate and a tensile backbone that promises long ageing. Harvested across September into October under a dry, warm summer, this wine balances power and elegant perfume; it will reward decanting (about one hour) and decades in the cellar.

Château Margaux — a First Growth with centuries of history — is overseen by owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos and guided on the technical side by winemaker Philippe Bascules. The estate combines emblematic parcels on fine gravel soils with rigorous viticulture and precise cellar work. For the 2019 Grand Vin the team selected fruit from classic Margaux plots (including added Merlots from Haut du Jardin), fermented with careful tank management and matured for around 20 months in French oak to build structure while preserving perfume and finesse.
