Tasting Note: The 2021 Château Palmer opens with a sophisticated bouquet of blackberries, black plum, cassis and blueberry framed by cedar, cigar-box and subtle cocoa. Spices of cinnamon and clove and a hint of floral and mineral lift the aromatic profile. On the palate it is medium-bodied and finely tuned: lively, racy acidity supports plush dark-fruit mid-palate, dark chocolate and coffee-edged notes, and finely grained tannins that are firm yet silky. The wine shows excellent focus, length and a long, aromatic finish—an elegant Margaux with both early appeal and serious ageing potential. Producer Notes: Château Palmer speaks of terroir, devotion and a signature of balance, length and silk. Owned by the Sichel and Mähler-Besse families and run by Thomas Duroux, the estate pursues attentive viticulture and careful selection. Winemaking Notes: Biodynamic approaches were used in the vineyards for this vintage. The Grand Vin received roughly half of the harvest; élevage lasted about 20 months in oak with careful integration of wood and fruit to preserve freshness and structure. Vineyard Notes: Situated in the heart of Margaux, Palmer’s 66 hectares of gravelly soils and grassy rows overlook the Gironde estuary. The stony soils, maritime-influenced microclimate and meticulous vineyard care yield concentrated, refined fruit showcasing terroir-driven minerality and clarity. Cellaring: Drinking window circa 2027–2055. Closure: cork. Maturation: 20 months in oak.
