A benchmark Pauillac from a biodynamic and organic estate, the 2020 bottling shows concentrated dark-fruit perfume with floral lifts and savory, smoky echoes. The nose opens on crushed blackcurrant, candied violet and subtle liquorice; cedar and dark chocolate emerge with gentle aeration. On the palate the wine is generous yet precise — creamy mid-palate texture with seamless acidity and fine-grained tannins that provide structure without harshness. Aging in a mix of new French oak and concrete amphorae (16–18 months) adds spice, baking-soda-like minerality and a smoky, long finish dominated by black fruit and cool mint. Vineyard practices are hands-on and sustainable: 81 hectares certified organic and biodynamic on Quaternary gravel soils, hand-harvested into small crates and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Manual sorting, four-week maceration with soft punch-downs and malolactic conversion in vats preserve purity and freshness. Owned by the Tesseron family and crafted with input from a noted consultant, this is a powerful but polished Grand Cru built for medium-term cellaring — decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young.
