Tasting Note: Deep ruby to inky hue with a bouquet of ripe black fruits — cassis, blackberry — woven with graphite, mint and subtle floral lifts. Toasty oak, cocoa and cedar add complexity while a mineral thread keeps things precise. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, creamy in texture yet supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and lively acidity, delivering excellent length. Producer & Vineyard: Château Sociando‑Mallet, a benchmark estate in the Haut‑Médoc, crafts wines of classic Médoc structure and aging potential. The 2020 harvest was picked by hand over roughly three weeks; bunches arrive in small crates to preserve quality. The estate produces at scale while maintaining plot-level attention. Winemaking & Ageing: Fermented traditionally using native yeasts in temperature‑controlled stainless steel and concrete vats with regular pump-overs to extract color and aromatic lift. The wine spent around 12 months in oak, imparting integrated spice and toast without masking fruit purity. Production is significant yet the house style remains terroir-driven and ageworthy.
