Tasting note: A deeply saturated, inky wine that opens with a cascade of dark fruit — blackberry, blueberry and black raspberry — layered with floral hints, graphite, licorice and fragrant camphor. Toasted oak, cedar and dark chocolate weave through the palate while espresso and spice-box notes linger on a long, spicy finish. The texture is plush and mouth-filling yet sculpted by a firm, grainy tannin structure and lively freshness. Producer notes: Troplong Mondot speaks of power tempered by precision. Crafted to reveal the estate's unique terroir, the wine balances aromatic richness with a sense of fullness; elements respond to one another to form a wine that evolves gracefully over decades. Winemaking & ageing: Vinified with attention to small-lot expression and careful oak handling, this vintage saw extended élevage (about 18 months in oak) and selective bottling practices to preserve concentration and structure. The result is an oaked, polished wine with dense layers and long cellar potential. Vineyard notes: Situated at the highest point of the appellation, the estate benefits from exceptional 360° exposure and complex soils. Biodiversity and a distinctive site expression give the wines a textured mineral core and an identity that is unique to the property. Made under the direction of the estate team with consulting input, the wine is designed for long ageing while offering generous early presence.
