Tasting note

A sumptuous Grand Cru from Richebourg that balances power with supreme elegance. Aromas open to a complex bouquet of peony, roses and violets layered over ripe red and black fruits. Spicy notes of licorice, vanilla and coriander thread through, while tertiary hints of leather, musk, humus and forest floor deepen with time. On the palate the texture is strikingly silky — velvety tannins wrapped around concentrated fruit and a mineral spine that gives precision and length. Winemaking is traditional: controlled fermentations (12–15 days) in lined cement tanks, blending free-run and press juice after settling, followed by approximately 16 months in French oak with a high proportion of new barrels (≈80% for the grand crus). This is a sensuous, layered wine that benefits from breathing and will reward medium- to long-term cellaring.

Winery

Domaine Anne Gros is part of the Gros family’s long-standing Burgundian tradition. The domaine practices classic vinification with careful temperature control and a commitment to letting terroir speak — using lined cement tanks for reds and significant new French oak for ageing its top sites. Their Richebourg bottlings are known for combining muscular depth with silk-like texture, often described by the team as a 'peacock’s tail' for its show of layered beauty.
