A classic Meursault from Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur, this 2021 opens with a warm, inviting nose of ripe pear, stone fruit and toasted almond, edged by vanilla and light honeyed spice. The palate is rounded and creamy — subtle butter and lees-derived texture are balanced by bright lemon-zest acidity and a chalky mineral thread. Producer notes: from the family-run holdings of Vincent and François Bitouzet, the domaine brings an attentive, low-intervention approach to the Côte de Beaune. Winemaking: hand-harvested fruit, gentle pressing, fermentation and élevage in oak barrels with time on fine lees to build texture; careful use of oak supports but does not dominate. Vineyard: parcels on classic Meursault soils — limestone and clay with sheltered aspects that produce ripe, concentrated fruit while retaining freshness. Serve lightly chilled and give a short decant (about 30 minutes) to let aromas open. Drinking window: 2023–2029. Pairs beautifully with richer poultry dishes, mushroom tarts, delicate fish in cream or butter sauces, and nutty cheeses.
