Bright and classically Chablis in character, the 2023 Domaine Daniel Dampt Cote de Lechet opens with keen lemon and green apple aromas edged by a fine, flinty note. On the palate it is crisp and focused: vibrant citrus acidity drives through layers of chalky minerality, sea-spray salinity and a touch of orchard fruit, finishing with clean, persistent length. Producer notes: run by Vincent and Sébastien Dampt, the domaine prioritises low-intervention farming and careful parcel selection in the Premier Cru site of Cote de Lechet. Winemaking notes: grapes are gently pressed, fermented in temperature-controlled vessels with attentive lees contact to build weight without masking the site’s minerality; élevage is restrained to preserve freshness and tension. Vineyard notes: vines are planted on classic Kimmeridgian limestone slopes, giving the wine its signature stony backbone and saline lift. Drink now through the early 2030s; serve well-chilled after a short decant to open the aromatics.
