Tasting Note: Fresh and poised, the 2020 Les Vercots opens with red cherry, wild raspberry and pressed rose, then shifts to sous-bois, cedar spice and an unmistakable mineral seam. On the palate it is medium-plus, with bright acidity, fine-grained tannins and a silky mid-palate that releases savory, iron-tinged flavors toward a long, composed finish. Producer Notes: Made by Franck Follin-Arbelet, this Premier Cru comes from a small, family-run domaine in Aloxe-Corton. The domaine focuses on careful vineyard work and low yields to concentrate flavor and terroir expression. Winemaking Notes: Grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted. Traditional Burgundian vinification, with gentle extraction to preserve elegance, followed by élevage in French oak barrels (a portion new) for around a year to 18 months, results in a wine that balances freshness with subtle oak spice. Vineyard Notes: Les Vercots sits on mid-slope limestone-clay soils that provide good drainage and a mineral backbone. Vine age and site exposure contribute to the wine's structure and aromatic complexity, showing both fruit richness and savory terroir detail.
