The palate is silky and focused — juicy red fruit framed by lively acidity, fine-grained tannins and a gently mineral, lingering finish. Producer notes: Domaine Mongeard‑Mugneret is a family-run domaine rooted in Chambolle‑Musigny and the Cote de Nuits. Under Jean Mongeard’s stewardship the domaine emphasizes precise vineyard work and low yields to capture the village’s signature elegance and perfume. Winemaking notes: Grapes are carefully hand-harvested and vinified with attention to gentle extraction to preserve aromatic clarity. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels with a modest proportion of new wood, allowing time in barrel to integrate structure while keeping fruit brightness and finesse. Vineyard notes: Vines are planted on classic Chambolle soils — limestone and clay with good drainage — on exposed slopes that favour late ripening and aromatic intensity. Mature vineyards and meticulous canopy management result in concentrated, pure flavors and balanced ripeness. Serve slightly chilled to cellar temperature; decant for 30–45 minutes if young. Pairs beautifully with roast duck, truffle dishes, delicate game birds and aged cheeses.
