Bright and focused, this village wine from Les Plateaux opens with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and hints of wild strawberry, edged by forest-floor and gentle spice. On the palate it shows a polished, medium frame with lively acidity and fine-grained tannins that carry savory, mineral notes through a persistent finish. Produced by the family estate of Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, the wine reflects careful vineyard work on the plateau sites: moderate yields, well-drained clay-limestone soils and attention to ripeness. Producer notes: Under Jean Mongeard's stewardship the domaine emphasizes terroir expression and age-worthiness. Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted to retain freshness and purity. Winemaking notes: Fermentation follows traditional Burgundian practice, combining temperature-controlled vats and maturation in French oak barrels with a measured use of new wood to support structure while preserving fruit vibrancy. Elevage is designed to refine tannins and integrate oak for 12–18 months depending on the cuvée. Vineyard notes: Les Plateaux offers mid-slope exposures with good sun balance and cool nights, helping preserve acidity and aromatic lift. This 2023 is approachable with short decanting now, but will reward patience over the next several years.
