Tasting note: Aromas of ripe plum, rose petal and toasted hazelnut open the glass, followed by red cherry, savory earth and a hint of tar. On the palate this Barolo shows full body, bright acidity and velvety yet structured tannins that give a lightly chewy, long finish. Ready to enjoy now with decanting but with clear mid-term aging potential. Producer notes: Gianni Gagliardo is a respected Barolo producer known for classical styling — focused on site expression and age-worthy structure. The 2009 vintage reflects careful selection and a balanced approach to oak and maturation. Winemaking notes: Fermentation is traditionally handled with extended maceration to extract ripe phenolics and aromatics; wines receive extended aging in wood followed by bottle rest to harmonize tannins and develop secondary notes of hazelnut and earth. Vineyard notes: Fruit is sourced from hillside sites in the Barolo zone with calcareous-clay soils and strong diurnal range.
