2016 Love Over Gold Shiraz Love Over Gold Eden Valley

A concentrated, serious expression from Eden Valley: layered aromas of blackberry, black cherry and blueberry are lifted by violet and black-pepper spice, with background notes of cedar, dark chocolate and warm baking spice. The palate is plush and full-bodied yet controlled — ripe dark fruit framed by lively acidity and fine-grained tannins, evolving into savory oak, mineral detail and a very long finish. Produced in small parcels, fruit is hand-harvested and cooled on arrival, fermented with careful extraction to preserve perfume, then matured in French oak for balance and structure. Vineyard sites sit on higher-elevation slopes with shallow, rocky soils and cool nights, delivering concentration and clarity. Drink now with a good decant, or cellar through the medium term (2021–2040).
