Tasting Note: Bright, racy and intensely mineral, this bottling opens with zesty citrus and green apple, overlaid by flint and subtle orchard-fruit perfume. On the palate it’s electric and tangy—high acidity driving a concentrated, full-bodied texture with a restrained creamy weight and a saline, long finish. Producer Notes: From Grands Joueurs Vignerons’ small-lot Mon Trajet cuvée sourced at Bentrock Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills. The project emphasizes site expression and low-yield farming to capture energetic coastal terroir. Winemaking Notes: Hand-harvested fruit is handled gently, with whole-cluster/whole-bunch-free pressings and fermentation in a mix of French oak (neutral and lightly toasted) and stainless vessels. A period on fine lees with occasional bâtonnage adds texture while restrained malolactic influence preserves the wine’s vibrant acidity. Vineyard Notes: Bentrock sits under strong maritime influence—ocean fog, cool breezes and significant diurnal shifts. Soils are well-draining with a minerally profile that delivers concentration and bright acidity. Low yields and meticulous canopy work produce ripe, focused fruit that keeps lively freshness.
