Tasting note: Bright, fresh dark-fruit aromas open with crunchy blackberry, cassis and wild raspberry, followed by subtle sweet spice, toasted chocolate and a hint of tobacco. The palate is lively and fruit-driven with an acidulous frame, fine-grained tannins and a pleasantly textured, medium-plus body. Good length with a slightly grainy finish. Producer notes: From Château La Lagune in the Haut-Médoc under the stewardship of Caroline Frey, this cuvée reflects careful vineyard work and a classic Médoc style—balanced, poised and food-friendly. The estate emphasizes attentive canopy management and sustainable practices to express site character. Winemaking notes: Fermentation was managed to preserve primary fruit freshness while extracting refined tannin structure. Maturation in oak (part new) adds toasted and chocolate nuances without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a wine showing freshness, structure and approachable complexity. Vineyard notes: Vineyards sit on the gravelly terroirs of the Haut-Médoc, benefiting from good drainage and maritime-influenced climate that favors ripe dark fruit with vibrant acidity. Low yields and selective harvesting help concentrate flavors and maintain balance.
