Tasting note: Deeply concentrated aromas of blackberries, black cherries and baked blueberries lead into a palate framed by velvety yet firm tannins and warm baking spice. Full-bodied and richly textured, the wine shows ripe dark fruit, a solid backbone of acidity and a long, persistent finish. Producer notes: From Outpost Wines, this bottling reflects the mountain site’s warmth and elevation; the wine is structured for short- to medium-term cellaring but also rewarding with some air now. Winemaking notes: Crafted in focused small lots, fruit-forward extraction is balanced with measured oak ageing and careful élevage to preserve primary fruit while integrating spice and texture. The result is concentrated, layered and polished. Vineyard notes: Fruit comes from Howell Mountain vineyards with elevated sites and well-drained soils. Soils and diurnal swings give ripe, intense flavors while retaining definition and structure—lower yields and careful canopy management emphasize concentration.
