Elegant and powerful, this Grand Cru from Pierre Girardin shows the best of its Puligny slopes: a complex bouquet of ripe stone fruits, lemon zest, toasted almond and warm brioche notes. On the palate it is richly textured — cream and buttered toast mingle with saline minerality and a bright backbone of acidity that keeps the wine focused. The 2018 vintage brings ripe fruit concentration balanced by freshness and a very long, savory finish. Producer notes: crafted by the Girardin family, the wine reflects careful selection in the vineyard and meticulous élevage in French oak, with restrained new oak influence and periodic lees stirring to build depth and silky mouthfeel. Winemaking notes: hand-harvested grapes are pressed gently, fermented slowly to preserve aromatics and then matured to integrate oak and lees without overpowering the terroir expression. Vineyard notes: parcels on the Bâtard-Montrachet slope benefit from limestone-rich soils and excellent sun exposure, producing remarkable depth, tension and a mineral thread typical of top Puligny sites.
