Ares is Two Hands' flagship, a concentrated, boldly textured red drawn from the estate's best Barossa parcels. The nose opens with intense black fruits — blackberry and black plum — layered with cracked black pepper, baking spice, and a ribbon of dark chocolate and smoke. On the palate it delivers rich, ripe fruit density balanced by firm, ripe tannins and generous oak-derived notes of vanilla and cedar. The mouthfeel is broad and velvety, with a long, resonant finish that slowly reveals savoury leather and tobacco notes. Producer notes explain that Ares celebrates the most perfect parcels selected each vintage — a statement wine aimed at power and precision. Winemaking is focused on careful selection and maturation in premium oak, overseen by Ben Perkins with viticultural input from Travis Coombe and ownership under Michael Twelftree.
