品飲筆記:酒色濃郁深紫,先是黑莓與黑李的豐滿果香,接著流出一抹紫羅蘭花香與黑胡椒、可可與雪松的香料氣息。口感厚實卻不笨重,果泥感與香料相互推進,單寧細緻有握感,酸度明亮帶動整體節奏,尾韻悠長而層次分明。 酒莊與葡萄園:雙手酒莊(Two Hands)以尋找與釀造單一園最佳風土聞名;希哈亞卡園位於Eden Valley高地,夜溫偏涼、土壤礫石與石灰質成分讓果實保有清晰礦物感。莊主與葡萄園團隊對產量與樹勢控制嚴謹,追求小產量、高濃度的果實。 釀酒工序:由首席釀酒師Ben Perkins領軍,小批次發酵、溫和浸皮以取得豐富色澤與圓潤單寧;之後於法國橡木桶(新桶與舊桶混用)中陳釀,使香料、雪松與香草的桶味融入果香,但不蓋過本身的果實風格。整體釀製導向結構與可陳性,適合現飲前先醒一段時間。 建議醒酒與搭配:建議醒酒1小時左右,現飲或短期陳放都很出色,搭配烤牛排、野味或成熟硬質起司尤佳。
Tasting Note: Deep garnet-purple in the glass, the Yacca Block opens with concentrated aromas of blackberry and black plum framed by floral violet notes and a wash of black pepper, cocoa and cedar. The palate is generous and layered — plush dark fruit at the core, spice and savory herb lift, firm but polished tannins and a bright thread of acidity that keeps the wine taut and energetic through a very long finish. Producer & Vineyard: From a single premium site in Eden Valley, Yacca Block is managed with meticulous attention to vine balance and fruit concentration. Under ownership of Michael Twelftree and with vineyard management by Travis Coombe, the site delivers small yields of intensely flavoured fruit from cool nights and stony soils that lend focus and minerality. Winemaking: Crafted by Ben Perkins and the Two Hands team in small-batch ferments, extraction is handled with precision to build texture without harshness. Maturation in a mix of new and seasoned French oak adds spice, cedar and subtle vanilla complexity while keeping the fruit front and centre. The result is a powerful yet refined red built for medium-term cellaring. Serve & Cellaring: Best enjoyed after a good decant (60–90 minutes) if drinking now to allow the layers to unfurl. Drinking window: 2019–2030. Pairs superbly with grilled and roasted red meats, game and rich cheeses.
