2018 Dm Bertrand Machard de Gramont Vosne Romanee

Vosne‑Romanee

Soul Hook: Vosne-Romanee finesse — minerality and red fruit in elegant balance.

Why choose it? (Feature -> Benefit)
- Single-region assembly from four clay-and-stone parcels -> delivers focused minerality and terroir clarity you can taste glass after glass.
- Gentle vinification and careful élevage -> silky texture without heaviness, approachable now yet with ageing upside.
- Classic Cote de Nuits pedigree at a sensible price point -> rare Burgundy character without the headline markup.

Sommelier's Notes: This 2018 shows bright red cherry and wild strawberry at the core, layered with forest-floor complexity and a stony mineral thread. Tannins are polished, acidity lively, finish savory with a lingering spice note. It feels tender for its youth yet has the structure to develop further into the mid-2020s.

Winemaking & Vineyard: Assembled from four clayey, stony parcels in Vosne-Romanee. The producer favours gentle extraction and understated élevage to preserve freshness and terroir expression. The result is refined texture and clarity rather than overt oak or power.

Occasions & Pairing: Decant ~45 minutes and serve at 16–17°C. Ideal for weekend roast dinners, intimate hotel rooms service, or as a gift bottle for dinner with friends. Matches richly flavoured poultry, mushroom dishes and medium-rare beef.

Competitive Edge: Offers authentic Vosne-Romanee character — mineral drive, elegant tannins and real complexity — at a price that undercuts many marquee names while delivering classic Burgundian identity.
