Tasting Note: Aromas of violets and rose petal open to ripe red and black fruit—currants, plum and black cherry—underpinned by tobacco, sandalwood, mint and a mineral spice. The palate is silky and focused: polished yet substantial tannins, lively acidity and dense mid-palate concentration, finishing very long with integrated French oak. Producer Notes: A flagship from a historic Saint-Emilion estate under the stewardship of Pierre Lurton and owners Albert Frère and Bernard Arnault. This vintage shows a higher proportion of the estate's structure-building component, producing a wine of tension and poise. Winemaking Notes: Late harvest in a cool year produced low yields; careful selection and classical vinification were followed by around 19 months in French oak barrels, allowing spice and nougat notes to integrate with the fruit. Vineyard Notes: Sourced from the estate's prime plots on Saint-Emilion's clay-limestone soils. A late, precise harvest delivered concentrated, pure fruit with refreshing acidity and excellent ageing potential. Drinking window extends for decades; approachable with decanting now, peak development over the coming 10–30 years.
