On the palate it is remarkably full-bodied and concentrated: rich, rounded mid-palate, savory depth and bright spicy lift that carries into an extraordinarily long, warming finish. Producer notes: Crafted in Maotai town by Kweichow Moutai Co., this expression reflects the regional microclimate and centuries-old tradition. The distillery follows strict, multi-stage solid-state fermentation and repeated distillation cycles before long maturation in ceramic vessels. Winemaking notes: Production relies on traditional starter culture and open fermentation, with seasonal batching and natural cellar aging. The result is a highly aromatic spirit layered with esters and Maillard-derived notes from long, slow maturation. Vineyard/field notes: Grown and distilled within the Chishui River basin, the local environment — foggy mornings, warm days and mineral-rich soils — contributes to the distinctive terroir expression.
