2019 Au Pied du Mont Chauve Chassagne Montrachet Concis du Champs

Soul Hook: A Burgundian red that pairs lithe red-fruit brightness with savory, herbaceous depth — elegant yet unapologetically structured.

Why choose it? (3 reasons)
1) Terroir-driven clarity -> Bright, pure red-fruit that sings of Chassagne-Montrachet’s cooler slopes.
2) Age-worthy structure -> Firm, densely packed tannins give cellar potential and a rewarding evolution.
3) Versatile gastronomy -> Savory herbal notes and medium-plus body that lift classic game, duck and richer poultry.

Sommelier’s Note: Think red cherry and raspberry at the front, dusted with dried sage and a hint of underbrush. Juicy and concentrated but tightly wound — the tannins are firm and textural, keeping the palate focused. Best enjoyed after a 30–60 minute decant to let the herbal edge round out and the fruit show more generosity.

Occasion (pairing guide): Weeknight roast duck for two, a gathered Sunday lunch with pheasant or coq au vin, or a restaurant steak when you want Burgundy finesse without the headline price.

Competitive Edge: Delivers authentic Chassagne-Montrachet character at a fraction of top-tier grand cru pricing — terroir fidelity and grip, not hype.
