2019 Chateau Beausejour Duffau Lagarrosse

A Saint‑Emilion Grand Cru with real depth — dark fruit, minerality and a finish that keeps giving.

【Why choose it?】
1) Estate classification & terroir -> Confidence in structure and ageing potential for serious collectors.
2) Meticulous vineyard and vinification -> Low yields and parcel-specific winemaking deliver concentrated complexity now and for decades.
3) Oak maturation in merrain barrels -> Adds spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit.

【Sommelier’s private notes】Pour, wait 90 minutes and watch this open from reserved black fruits and graphite to layers of licorice, cocoa and a saline, almost chalky minerality. The midpalate is broad and plush, while the tannins remain grainy and precise — powerful yet elegant. Best enjoyed with time in the glass or a short decant when young.

【Occasion — pairing guide】Perfect for milestone dinners: roast ribeye with glazed shallots, braised lamb shank, or a mushroom risotto topped with shaved aged cheese. Also elevates festive Cantonese roast beef or a refined Korean BBQ night.

【Competitive edge】Compared with bigger-name Bordeaux, this offers Premier Grand Cru Classé pedigree and intense right‑bank expression at markedly better value — rarity and cellaring potential without the extreme price tag.

Winemaking & Vineyard notes: Manual harvest with strict selection; vat-by-vat vinification tailored to each parcel; one-year maturation in merrain oak barrels; soils of Saint‑Emilion’s classic clay‑limestone slopes; cork closure; classified estate with long ageing window.
