Tasting note

Deep, very dark purple in the glass. The nose is intense and immediate — ripe blackcurrant and black cherry lead, followed by layers of licorice, exotic spice and a hint of graphite and smoke. On the palate the wine is greedy and powerful yet balanced: juicy and fleshy with coated, velvety tannins and a broad mid-palate. Oak aging adds cocoa and vanilla whispers while a fresh, fruity persistence carries through the finish. Made from grapes concentrated by the dry 2020 season on the Gunz gravel plateau, fermentation took place in thermo-regulated vats and the wine was matured for 18 months in French oak. A Cru Classé from an estate owned by the Kressmann family, it shows both early appeal and real cellar potential.

Château Latour-Martillac is a Cru Classé estate in Pessac-Léognan, long held by the Kressmann family. The property sits on a gravel plateau above Martillac and combines traditional Médoc-inspired structure with the freshness typical of Graves. Production practices emphasise careful parcel selection, temperature-controlled fermentation and attentive oak ageing to preserve primary fruit while adding refined complexity.
