2021 Chateau Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Blanc
2021 Chateau Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Blanc
A refined dry white drawn from Château Suduiraut's Premier Cru Classé terroir in Sauternes. The bouquet is perfumed and layered — lime blossom and citrus peel up front, with orchard fruits and a hint of tropical ripeness weaving through floral notes and delicate honeyed nuance. Subtle oak influence (nine months' élevage: 88% in second‑use barrels, 12% new) adds a whisper of vanilla and spice without overwhelming the fresh, saline mineral thread.
On the palate the wine is concentrated and structured: bright, taut acidity frames generous fruit and a compact, almost chalky midpalate. There is notable depth and a resonant, saline finish that carries floral and stone-fruit echoes. Moderate production and carefully selected older vines (average age ~45 years) give this bottling a terrific sense of place and aging potential — drink now after a short decant to open aromatics, or cellar for a few years to watch the texture gain complexity.

Winery
Château Suduiraut is a historic Premier Cru Classé estate in Sauternes, today part of the AXA Millésimes group. Known primarily for their sweet wines, Suduiraut also selects specific old-vine parcels to produce a dry, concentrated white that reflects the site's limestone/silty terroir. Vines used for this cuvée average around 45 years. The wine spends nine months in oak (mostly second-use barrels with a small portion new), and is bottled under cork.
