2021 Chateau Talbot (375 ml)

Tasting NOTE: Bright, classic Saint-Julien aromatics of black cherry, blackcurrant and plum mingle with herbal garrigue, tobacco and a hint of anise. The palate is medium-bodied and composed, with polished, silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a mineral-tinged, savory finish. Producer notes highlight Talbot’s long family ownership (Bignon‑Cordier) and its reputation for reliable, ageworthy vintages—generous and approachable in youth yet structured for the cellar. Winemaking & ageing: fermented in oak vats and matured 15 months in French oak (50% new), closed with natural cork. Vineyard: a large estate on gravelly plots near the Gironde estuary, benefiting from maritime influence, well‑drained soils and careful canopy management across extensive hectares. Drink from 2025, developing through the 2030s and beyond.
