A classic Médoc from 2005 that delivers concentrated, dark-fruited aromas with a clear mineral thread. Expect black currant and brambly fruit layered with licorice, tobacco leaf and a spice-box complexity. The palate is medium–full with fleshy, almost sweet tannins that provide a plush texture and good structural backbone. Oak seasoning and crushed-stone minerality lift the finish. Best enjoyed after at least an hour's decant to let the layers open; pairs naturally with grilled or roasted red meats and mature cheeses.
