This 2019 from Clos de Mez in Morgon shows concentrated, ripe red-fruit aromas layered with wild herbs, savory spice and a clear mineral thread. The palate is dense and warm yet sculpted — ripe core fruit framed by silky, now-softening tannins and lively acidity. Winemaking aims to preserve primary fruit and terroir expression: fruit from older vines on granite soils is handled with careful extraction and restrained élevage so the wine keeps freshness while gaining structure. Drink now after a short decant to open its aromatics, or cellar through the early 2030s. A versatile bottle for charcuterie, roasted game or creamy cheeses.
