2012 Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey Chambertin

The 2012 Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin is a testament to the resilience and dedication of its producers. Despite a challenging growing season marked by early bud burst and threats of mildew, the resulting wine is nothing short of classic and savory. With a bouquet of attractive blackberry and wild strawberry scents, this wine unfolds to reveal a palate graced with rounded ripe tannins and a bold expression of dark cherry and raspberry fruit. The persistent finish, noted with hints of black cherry and spice, invites you to savor each sip. Decanting for an hour is recommended to fully appreciate its complexity. This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as roast duck, grilled lamb chops, or a comforting beef bourguignon.
