2016 Domaine Didier Dagueneau Jurancon Jardins de Babylone Sec
Bright and nervy, this dry Jurançon opens with a vivid bouquet of citrus zest, yellow apple and white blossom, followed by a streak of flinty mineral and saline detail. On the palate it is finely textured — lively acidity frames concentrated stone-fruit flavours and a subtle floral lift, finishing long and clean with a mineral persistence. Produced by the Louis‑Benjamin / Didier Dagueneau project, the wine reflects a small‑lot, hands-on approach: fruit is carefully selected from steep, well-drained parcels, fermented in small vessels with attentive temperature control and spared heavy new oak to preserve freshness. Lees contact and precise élevage add mid-palate texture without softening the wine’s taut backbone. Best enjoyed lightly chilled and given a short decant to open up its aromatic layers.

Benjamin‑Louis / Didier Dagueneau carries forward the Dagueneau legacy with a focused, artisanal practice. Working small parcels, the team favours low‑intervention viticulture, rigorous sorting at harvest and small‑lot vinification to preserve site expression. The cellar approach is modern and precise — temperature‑controlled fermentations, selective use of neutral vessels and extended lees contact to build texture while keeping vivid freshness. The project channels a father’s exacting standards into a new generation’s clarity of style.
